A thriving hub of fashion, art, and design. Where luxury retailers, street art, and upscale condos meet.
Midtown Miami is the collective term for the Wynwood, Edgewater, and Design District neighborhoods, which are located north of Downtown Miami and west of Biscayne Bay. This recently revitalized area of Miami is attracting both high-net-worth businesspeople and ambitious arts and fashion types from all over the world.
Homes and condos in Midtown place residents in the heart of a neighborhood that has grown quickly into a pedestrian-friendly metropolis. The area is home to the Shops at Midtown, an outdoor shopping area designed to mimic New York’s SOHO neighborhood, and which is home to several national and local stores and restaurants. Upscale apartments and condos are found in abundance here as well, ensuring residents will never be far from a day of open-air shopping and dining. ln terms of the cultural fare, Midtown is home to Art Miami, a local art fair that takes place during Art Basel. All of these amenities can be easily accessed, as the new Miami Trolley system just expanded its route from Downtown Miami to Midtown and the Design District, making life in Midtown that much sweeter.
Within Midtown, the Design District is home to highly fashionable boutiques and condos. The neighborhood’s landscape is changing to adapt more art displays, local eateries, stylish new condominium buildings, and luxury retailers. Boutique brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Cartier, Tom Ford, Fendi, and Christian Louboutin have set up shop in the Design District, while restaurants such as The Federal and Blue Collar have set up shop as well.
Wynwood, another subsection of Midtown and the new Mecca of art in South Florida, boasts over 70 galleries, museums, and art collections. The second Saturday night of every month is “ArtWalk,” an event during which the art galleries and studios open their doors to the public for viewing, often accompanied by street vendors, live music, and appearances by gallery owners and local artists. In addition, the world-famous Wynwood Walls is a permanent outdoor-mural exhibit that features the works of several world-renowned street artists. With all these public art galleries and displays available, alongside the coffee shops and bars such as local favorites Panther Coffee and Wood Tavern, there is sure to never be a dull moment.
