Coconut Grove Real Estate

One of Miami’s most historic, yet trendy, bayfront neighborhoods

Less than five miles from downtown Miami on the shore of Biscayne Bay, Coconut Grove is a lush, trendy paradise for those wanting to live the Miami lifestyle to the fullest. Mature trees line the streets hanging over some of the country’s most luxurious homes, and lucky residents enjoy easy access to aquatic activities throughout the year. Coconut Grove’s waterfront location allows for easy boat and yacht docking, fresh seafood, and sunny days year-round.

First an immigrant community, Coconut Grove was annexed by the city of Miami in 1925. Further development began in the late ‘70s with the construction of Coconut Grove high-rise condo towers on the shoreline. Over the years, many clubs and hotels were also built, making Coconut Grove one of Miami’s most popular neighborhoods to live, work, and play. In present times, residents enjoy shopping at trendy boutiques, dining on tropical cuisine, and visiting the several bayfront parks in Miami’s most historic and beautiful neighborhood.

Coconut Grove Lifestyle

Life in Coconut Grove is fun and beautiful. Locals spend time out in the sunshine every chance they get. Pool and beach days are popular, of course, but Coconut Grove residents enjoy unique access to boat days on Biscayne Bay. Other fun activities on land can be found at Peacock Park’s free yoga classes or Coconut Grove’s local artisanal market. More quiet days can be spent inside at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Located on 10 beautiful acres of prime oceanfront real estate, the former estate of wealthy businessman James Deering is now a museum and meticulously-maintained garden open to the public for tours.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Coconut Grove locals are around the corner from some of Miami’s best nightlife establishments and trendiest restaurants, many of which come with breathtaking bayfront views. From Italian to classic American brunch, not to mention seafood fresh from the bay, there is something sure to tantalize even your toughest houseguest.

Italian cuisine is a popular choice in South Florida and Coconut Grove boasts two of the city’s best options. Strada in the Grove is a hidden gem with an extensive wine list and a solid reputation for perfected Italian classics, such as handmade pasta, risotto, and delectable desserts. Another popular choice can be found at Fiola, perfect for more formal occasions. Inspired by family traditions and local Floridian ingredients, Fiola’s prime filet, cacio e pepe, and Sunday brunch have been a Coconut Grove favorite for years.

Closeby, Greenstreet Cafe has been a favorite brunch option among locals for over 30 years. Classics reimagined for modern cravings include Nutella-stuffed French toast, lobster ravioli, and a lengthy cocktail menu to boot. The best place to walk off brunch can be found at CocoWalk, a chic destination known for upscale shopping, its luxury Cinépolis movie theater, and open, spacious courtyard.

When the occasional staycation is in order, local residents check in to Mr. C, a modern luxury hotel known for its bayside pool, exclusive reserved guest access on Miami Beach (umbrellas and lounge chairs included), and luxurious spa treatments. Just down the road, happy hour on the marina can be enjoyed at Monty’s Raw Bar. Fresh oysters, crabs, shrimp, and more are served alongside tropical tiki concoctions with uninterrupted views of the yacht club and bay.

Things To Do in Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove’s claim to fame is undoubtedly its waterfront location. Don’t own a boat? No problem! A plethora of hobie cat instructors is available on the shoreline to teach beginners sailing basics and provide a new way to experience the beauty of Biscayne Bay. For more fun to be had on land, the annual SEED Food & Wine Festival has been the country’s leading plant-based food and drink festival since 2014. Every November, both locals and visitors alike flock to Coconut Grove for live cooking demonstrations, sampling of organic, liquors, and the famous plant-based burger battle, featuring a panel of celebrity judges.
