Welcome to Downtown/Brickell

An elevated standard of living in southern Florida

Beyond the sandy shores of the many beaches and palm-lined roadways, Downtown Miami/Brickell is an ultraluxe collection of glittering skyscrapers, luxury condos, and high-powered office towers. Brickell is the city’s financial center, allowing residents to live and play, not far from work. Downtown is filled with art galleries, open-air malls, and is the home of the Miami Heat professional basketball team. Commutes to the office are easy, as are weekend drives to the beach and marina.

Downtown/Brickell is easily Miami’s most historic neighborhood. Development first began in the 1900s, with buildings like the Freedom Tower and historic DuPont Building, the city’s only art deco skyscraper. In modern times, rooftop bars and hot spots for power lunches have laid claim to the tops of these towers. Locals can easily get around on CitiBikes and scooters, or on foot, thanks to the perfect 100/100 Walk Score. All these things combined have made Downtown/Brickell the perfect place to live, work, and play in Miami.

What to Love

  • Highly walkable with an abundance of easy transportation options
  • Shopping, waterfront dining, rooftop happy hours, professional sports, and fine art
  • Less than ten miles from world-famous Miami Beach

Local Lifestyle

Downtown/Brickell is a sprawling urban paradise just steps away from Biscayne Bay. Residents who work here are often a short walk from their offices. If not, the Metromover, an above-ground metro rail, provides rides around the neighborhood seven days a week. Days out of the office are spent at one of the several exquisite waterfront or rooftop bars or restaurants. A stroll through Brickell City Centre, one of the many art galleries, or down an urban trail is arguably the best way to walk off delicious days out.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Life Downtown comes with a view. Many restaurants and bars in Brickell call the top floor of mirrored skyscrapers home, while several others are situated along the shore of the Biscayne Bay or Miami River. Great cuisine, professional sports, lux boutiques, and more are all an arm’s reach away.

Downtown/Brickell is a hotspot for fine dining. Seaspice, located on the banks of the Miami River, is well-known for its globally-inspired cuisine and breathtaking city views. Lobster risotto, wagyu dumplings, and filet mignon pair well with their lengthy menu of wines imported from across the globe. Fine French and Mediterranean food can be found nearby at La Petite Maison. Since 2017, LPM has been a staple for European classics such as redfish, duck, carpaccio, and veal, conveniently located adjacent to Brickell’s many office towers and hotels. Chic, modern Japanese fare is served at Zuma, an internationally-acclaimed destination for sushi, miso-glazed black cod, and spicy beef tenderloin.

More casual offerings can be found at The River Oyster Bar. Fresh seafood and special happy hour selections make this the perfect place to meet up after long days at the office. Another scenic nighttime spot popular among locals is Sugar, a rooftop bar on the 40th floor of the EAST Miami hotel. Sweeping views of downtown and the Biscayne Bay are accompanied by sushi and Asian fusion bites, boozy ice cream, and one of Miami’s longest drink menus.

More dining options and high-end shopping can be found at Brickell City Centre. Anchored by a 107,000 square foot Saks Fifth Avenue and CMX luxury cinema, Brickell City Centre is also home to hotels and office space. Not far away, the Miami Heat plays at FTX Arena. In addition to professional basketball, FTX also hosts concerts and other live entertainment. Some previous performances have included Imagine Dragons, Swedish House Mafia, Marc Anthony, and Tyler, The Creator.

Things To Do

Miami is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and lucky locals enjoy fun in the sun whenever they can. One of the city’s most beautiful parks can be found in the heart of Brickell. The Underline is an urban park and trail stretching 10 miles beneath the Metrorail. The Underline often hosts group fitness classes, art exhibitions, and is a great place for dogs to run off energy. Another popular spot for fresh air is Maurice A Ferre Park, located on 21 acres at the edge of Biscayne Bay. The park includes the longest waterfront baywalk in the city, weekly yoga classes, and hosts other events throughout the year.
